Douglas Fir Timbers

Douglas fir timbers offer excellent strength and versatility, making them suitable for both structural and aesthetic applications. Known for their durability and attractive grain pattern, these timbers are perfect for beams, timber frames, and any outdoor structures, providing a reliable and visually appealing material for any project.

At Muskoka Timber Mills we offer: FOHC (Free Of Heart Center) and Boxed Heart. FOHC Timbers are specially cut so there is no heart within the timber. Not having a heart center results in less warping and checking over time as it dries, leaving you with a more durable and stable timber! We also offer Boxed Heart Douglas Fir Timbers which is a more economical solution. The choice between the two depends on factors of your job; give us a call today and we can happily recommend which option is suitable for your project!

  • Grades: #1 Structural
  • Sizing BH: 4" x 4" - 24" x 24" and everything in between! (Call for 20"+ inventory)
  • Sizing FOHC: 4" x 4" -  12" x 12" and everything in between!
  • Lengths: 6’ – 30’ (Call for 20'+ inventory)
  • Finishing: Green (wet) vs Kiln Dried / Rough Sawn Face or D4S (Dressed Four Sides)

Douglas Fir Lumber

Douglas fir lumber is highly valued for its strength and workability, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of construction and woodworking projects. Its straight grain and stability ensure a high-quality finish, with beautiful pinky amber hues. Take the Douglas fir in rough form, or have it profiled to your liking!
